Make the most of your everyday

So often we go throughout our everyday lives with no motivation. We just seek out the ordinary and routine things we always do. On Monday, we look forward to Friday. If were not completely happy with the current day, we wish for tomorrow to be here. If we have something exciting coming later on in the day, we wish the next few hours away.

But have you ever stopped to think - what if we are missing out on so many God given opportunities in all of the wishing away of our lives that we so often do?

We are only given so many days on this earth. God has numbered them specifically for each and every one of us. Each day has a meaning and a purpose, and each time we wish away our life, we miss out on an opportunity to make an impact. We were not made simply for ourselves. We were made for serving others and caring about others more than ourselves. God has placed us here on earth for a purpose. He wants to use us each and everyday of our lives. We are here to bring glory to his name and to serve him to the best of our abilities.

Do you really think God put you here to just go through out everyday like we have no purpose and maybe to go to church every Sunday and that’s it? Do you think that he doesn’t have any bigger plans for you than that? Well, I’m here to tell ya - you’re here for way more than that. And you’re wasting your life if you think that’s all you’re made for.

You have to stop living like all you were made for is the little life you have made for yourself on this earth. God's plan for you is so much greater than any plan we could ever make for ourselves. When you start living out his plan for your life, that's when you will begin to have an impact and truly make the most of your everyday. You have to start living like your life has more meaning than what you can see on earth, there’s life beyond this - and that’s what truly matters.

Don’t wait for some extravagant sign or light bulb moment before you decide to do something meaningful. There are opportunities all around you, that God is placing there specifically for you. But if you are so focused on getting to the next hour, or day, or month you will completely miss it. God will equip you with anything that you need to make the most of that opportunity he has given you, you just have to trust him and go do it.

When you get to heaven, is God going to be pleased with the way you have lived your life and say “Well done my good and faithful servant,” or is he going to look at you with disappointment and think, “Man, she could have done so much more if she would have just been faithful to living out my plan for her.” - I don’t know about you, but I would be devastated if the God of the Universe, the Creator of everything, the God who chose to give me eternal life when I deserved nothing, looked at me and was disappointed. I want to do everything that I can on this earth to please him - because he is worthy of it all. He isn’t just worthy of your “one day a week on Sunday self” - he is worthy of every ounce of your being.

So what is it that’s holding you back? I promise, whatever it is - it is worthless compared to the joy and fulfillment you get from seeking to serve God in your everyday life.

Stop wasting everyday, just wishing it away - and start looking for God given opportunities. How can you serve someone today? How can you glorify God today? How can you make an impact on someone's life today?

Stop settling for simply the life you have planned for yourself, and see what God can do. It will be bigger and greater than you could have ever imagined. But you have to give him all of you, and hold nothing back.

“This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” ‭Joshua‬ ‭1:9‬ ‭NLT‬‬
